Neptune HPT flowmeters utilize the latest turbine
design technologies to provide the finest, most
dependable and flexible low cost cold-water (to
49 degrees C/120 degrees F) municipal and industrial
turbine meters on the market. These flowmeters meet
and exceed AWWA C701 specifications for accuracy,
design and materials. In most cases, they exceed
rangability standards standards by 25% or more.
Each unit consists of a rugged bronze maincase and
cover, an AWWA Class II helix turbine measuring
element, and a roll-sealed magnetic drive non-reset
totalizing register. For calibrated digital pulse
output, the TRICON-S register/pulse transmitter
may be easily installed without interruption of
service.
Design Features
Sustained Accuracy
The Schlumberger/Neptune helix rotor design provides
accuracies of 100% +/- 1.5% over a 50:1 or greater
turndown ratio, the widest operating flowranges
in the industry. A tamper-proof calibration vane
allows for adjustment of meter accuracy while the
unit is in line and under pressure. This device
is mounted under the register or covered by a protective
cap in a tamper-resistant enclosure.
Flexibility
these units may be installed in right or left hand
flow orientation, while the register may be rotated
to any of 4 (90 degree) positions. Each register
incorporates a Low Flow Indicator for leak detection.
Maximum continuous flow rates may be exceeded by
25% or more without damage to the unit. For extreme
cases where water is laden with solid impurities,
easily installed plate strainers are available for
all sizes.
Long Service Life
These meters are specifically designed for exceptional
performance at continuous operation at Q Max and
occasional overranging. A thrust compensated rotor
ensures extended life by balancing the load on the
turbine shaft. Coupled with Ryton®/Fortron®
(PPS) bearings, which are self-lubricating, component
wear is minimized. Should the turbine require replacement,
a Unitized Measuring Element (UME) assembly, which
includes a register, provides added ease in maintenance,
reduced downtime, and assured accuracy through factory
calibration.
Simple Design
These units do not require elaborate timing mechanisms
or difficult adjusting procedures. After factory
calibration is not required due to remarkably close
tolerances in manufacture along with single liquid
measurement.
